I don’t always catch it early --- the spiral
But when I do, I have things that help me stay here instead of floating into anxiety or dissociation.
Cheap, simple, grounding. That’s all I need.
I. Fidget Ring or Stress Ball
Replaces nail-biting and over-scrolling.
II. Texture Pens
Writing + sensation= control without force.
III. Noise Machine or Rain Sounds Speaker
Silences everything except what I need to hear.
IV. Foot Massager or Acupressure Mat
Body presence. No thinking. Just sensation.
V. Soft Lamp with Warm Light
Helps the room match my nervous system when I’m calming down.
Presence isn’t always peaceful.
Sometimes it’s just tolerable. And that’s more than I used to have.
